The Dissident is a movie that you should see. We watched it in the Virgin Media DIFF (Dublin International Film Festival) which was streamed to our living room. You may be able to catch it online from Prime from April 1st.
Collective Responsibility
A fire killed 27 in a nightclub, injuring many more. Yet the death toll was 64. Then a sports newspaper investigated the circumstances of the fire and found government corruption on a mind-numbing scale. How come it was a sports newspaper? How did they have the resources to do it? How did their management approve it?

Imprisoned Writers
Today is a day for us to recall that there are myriad writers incarcerated in many intolerant countries. Perhaps more significantly, The Day of The Imprisoned Writer is also a commemoration of the writers killed since the previous year’s Day of The Imprisoned Writer.
Other People’s Words
Other people’s thoughts often provide the focus for my own musings. And I’ll admit that there are many days when I think that other people’s words convey my thoughts better than I can express them for myself. Today has been one of those days.
