Chapbook About Poem

July 31, 2023 by Simon Robinson 1 Comment

Victoria Amelina wrote that ‘as long as a writer is still read, they remain alive’. I found myself looking out to sea in the west of Ireland the day after she was buried. I wept into the rain on hearing the breeze whispering fragments of swimmers’ words.

The outer covers for Chapbook About Poem. It is the 31st chapbook in the series.

The Dissident

March 15, 2021 by Simon Robinson Leave a Comment

The Dissident is a movie that you should see. We watched it in the Virgin Media DIFF (Dublin International Film Festival) which was streamed to our living room. You may be able to catch it online from Prime from April 1st.

January 21, 2021 by Simon Robinson Leave a Comment

How did they have the resources to do it? How did their management approve it?

Imprisoned Writers

November 15, 2020 by Simon Robinson Leave a Comment

Today is a day for us to recall that there are myriad writers incarcerated in many intolerant countries. Perhaps more significantly, The Day of The Imprisoned Writer is also a commemoration of the writers killed since the previous year’s Day of The Imprisoned Writer.

Other People’s Words

September 2, 2020 by Simon Robinson 1 Comment

Other people’s thoughts often provide the focus for my own musings. And I’ll admit that there are many days when I think that other people’s words convey my thoughts better than I can express them for myself. Today has been one of those days.

This seal isn’t alone surfacing for oxygen today.
