‘My father told me that cameras let you save eight milliseconds for eternity.
He grew up within sight of The Muglins. I grew up knowing to respect its purpose.’
It was after the Mondrian Outing that I committed to publish and snail-mail a monthly photozine for each month of 2021. I’ve been thinking of doing it for years and it’s already become quite an undertaking to get the first issue up and out.
I’ll be providing it free to the first 39 subscribers and the remainder of the 200 limited edition ‘zines will be available for purchase, singly or serially. I plan to hand-number each copy and mail them direct to the subscribers. You should note that the free list started filling when I announced my intentions last year so if have an interest, let me know.
I’ve developed my themes and images to be viewed on paper and it’s the paper and the inks that will matter. I mention this because I’ve already been asked about e-books and I have no plans for them. I intend for the ‘zines to be printed here in Ireland and I expect they will become ever more sustainable as I learn how best to source and control the reproduction on various recycled papers and sustainable inks.
I plan to mail them out in the first week of each month. Teething problems mean that I’ll be late with the first issue but I’ll manage the deliveries better ever after.
If you are interested in subscription, please let me know using the website’s CONTACT ME page. I’ll need a name and a physical address which can be provided in the message.
I’ve written about The Muglins often. Here are two journal entries that might be of interest.
