Inversion and Surreality

September 9, 2020 by Simon Robinson Leave a Comment

I’m imagining a surreal world that I’ll call WedNinSepTwe because that’s the date I started to imagine this weird world. Most Imaginarians would pronounce it wɛdˈnɪsɛpˈtwɛ but the beauty of a conjectural planet is that you can call it anything you like.

Another view of the WedNinSepTwe inversions?

I’m imagining that the WedNinSepTwe police could use harassment to prevent crimes while, coevally, the elected representatives would be free to express their intention to ignore national and international laws.

WedNinSepTwe could be a world where refugees from war would destroy their passports to avoid repatriation and dissidents would rip up theirs to avoid being exiled.

Imagine that you wake up to learn you are serving a life sentence in WedNinSepTwe for protesting peacefully, yet a thirty-something billionaire has the right to decide what constitutes free speech everywhere on the planet.

Such extreme fantasies are too disturbing so I think I’ll calm myself with a cup of decaf coffee while I read today’s news.

Some advise that a few links might be helpful:

On destroying identity papers, here or here.
Harassment policing or this.
Peaceful protestor or billionaire censor.
